Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Mass Spectrometry-based Immunopeptidomics

Introduction

Enara Bio’s purpose is to shine a light on unconventional T cell targets to develop cancer immunotherapies designed to provide lasting benefit for broad patient populations. Our proprietary EDAPT™ platform enables us to discover a novel and differentiated class of cancer-specific targets from the genomic dark matter, which we call Dark Antigens™. We are pioneering approaches to exploit these Dark Antigen targets with a range of immunotherapeutic modalities, including bispecific T-cell engagers, adoptive cell therapies and cancer vaccines.
Enara Bio was founded in 2016 and has been well funded to invest in the build out and growth of our R&D efforts and our fantastic team. The company is based in Oxford, UK.

Job Summary

Enara Bio has established an expert team and a differentiated pipeline for the identification of novel antigens for immunotherapies using MS-based proteomics and immunopeptidomics.

We are seeking to build on our expertise and are now looking for a highly motivated Research Associate/Associate Scientist. This will need to be an individual with a passion to learn mass spectrometry-based proteomics applied to the exciting field of immuno-oncology.

The candidate will be expected to support the team with sample preparations across different projects, ensure laboratory stocks including chemicals, various liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment is maintained, and when necessary, grow cell lines, produce and QC antibodies from hybridomas.

You will be expected to:

The role will enable you to work with the lab team and to be involved in our research. Clear communication will be essential, and this role will make a major contribution within the team in identifying and quantifying the most immunogenic antigens for incorporation into TCR-based therapies to make a meaningful difference to patients suffering from cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical help with sample preparation in a range of proteomics/immunopeptidomics projects.
  • Provide support with maintenance of laboratory stocks, chemicals and various liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) equipment.
  • Provide support with growing cell lines, hybridomas, purifying and QC antibodies.
  • Document experiments and findings according to established industry standards to support and enable filing of patents, publications, and regulatory documents.
  • Closely interact with colleagues from multiple teams within the research organisation by effectively communicating your results and conclusions.
  • Contribute to a vibrant and innovative working environment where improvements and new ideas are adopted and freely shared among the teams.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

  • MSc or equivalent degree in relevant disciplines in chemistry or biochemistry or having experience of research in a relevant scientific discipline such as MS-based proteomics and/or immunopeptidomics.
  • Proven experience in relevant biochemical techniques.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Understanding and experience with LC-MS analysis and associated data handling.
  • Ideally experience of cell culture and septic techniques.
